Fernando Mancías-Steinmann
Fernando joins the firm’s growing immigration law practice, focusing primarily on removal defense and immigration litigation. He is a dedicated advocate for individuals facing deportation, bringing a deep commitment to client-centered, high-quality legal representation.
A seasoned litigator with extensive courtroom experience, Fernando has spent his career serving vulnerable communities. Before joining the firm, he spent nearly a decade at a nonprofit law firm in New York City, representing low-income families in eviction proceedings. He co-led one of the country’s largest eviction defense programs where he helped clients remain safely housed, fought landlords who discriminated against disabled tenants, and secured hundreds of thousands of dollars in benefits to ensure long-term rent affordability. He also built meaningful relationships through partnerships with community organizers and local organizations.
Fernando earned his law degree from New York Law School and his undergraduate degree from Columbia University. He is originally from the Rio Grande Valley in Texas and is bilingual in Spanish.
Outside of work, Fernando enjoys art, running, and exploring his new Arkansas community with his husband.
