Upasana Goel

Upasana Goel is an attorney licensed in New York and practices immigration law with a focus on employment based immigration and family-based petitions. Upasana joined Bogart, Small + Duell as a law clerk in February 2025, supporting attorneys Nathan Bogart, Susan Duell and Rachel Bush on a wide range of matters involving family-based immigration, adjustment of status, waivers, and removal proceedings.

Upasana brings a strong foundation in complex international family law and cross-border taxation to her role at the firm. Before joining Bogart, Small + Duell, she practiced law for five years in India, handling high-stakes international family disputes, multi-jurisdictional litigation and international tax compliance. She earned her law degree from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in New Delhi and later completed two master’s degrees—an LL.M. in Canadian Common Law from York University (Toronto) and an LL.M. in Cross-Border Taxation from the University of Miami.

Her prior work in international taxation provided her with extensive experience in regulatory compliance, global tax frameworks and advising clients across multiple jurisdictions. This background complements her immigration practice allowing her to approach cases with a deep understanding of how legal systems intersect across borders.

As an immigrant herself, Upasana is deeply connected to the immigrant community and understands the emotional and practical challenges her clients face. She often shares, “Having navigated the immigration process myself, I understand the complexities and emotions involved. My personal journey allows me to relate to my clients on a deeper level and advocate for them with both legal expertise and empathy.”

Upasana is passionate about helping individuals and families find stability through the immigration system. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new places, learning about different cultures and spending time with her family and friends. Originally from New Delhi, she is fluent in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.
