Wendy Galvez, Office Manager

Wendy joined Bogart, Small+ Duell as Office Manager in May 2025 after relocating from Baldwin Park, CA. Bringing over a decade of legal experience to the role with a deep commitment to fostering collaborative relationships, Wendy believes that strong connections with both clients and team members form the foundation of organizational success.

With her experience in the legal field, Wendy has developed a comprehensive understanding of the detailed dynamics that drive effective legal operations. Her approach combines operational expertise with a people-first philosophy, ensuring that every interaction contributes to a positive and productive workplace culture.

Wendy graduated from the Women’s Leadership Program at Yale School of Management’s Executive Education, where she earned a certification that not only enhanced her strategic leadership and innovative capabilities but also reinforced her dedication to professional growth and excellence in management.

Apart from being the firm’s office Manager she also assists criminal defense attorney Charlcee Small with Misdemeanor and traffic cases out of Springdale, AR. As Office Manager, Wendy is committed to creating an environment where clients receive exceptional service and employees have the support they need to thrive. Outside of work, Wendy enjoys traveling to her parents’ home country of El Salvador, spending time with her dogs and family, and making balloon arrangements for close family and friends.

Itzy M. Castorena, Senior Legal Assistant and Case Coordinator

Itzy is the firm’s Senior Legal Assistant and Case Coordinator. She has been with the firm since August 2022, assisting attorney Rachel Bush in the Fayetteville office and providing quality control support to the firm’s legal and litigation assistants. Itzy focuses primarily on family petitions, naturalization, U visas, VAWA, and other immigration benefits applications.

Itzy graduated from Springdale High School in 2009 and acquired her Paralegal Degree from Northwest Arkansas Community College in 2012. She has a strong background in different fields of law working with different attorneys and acquiring experience in family law, criminal law, civil matters, and immigration. Itzy was previously at Wilkinson Law Firm and worked for Rachel starting in 2015. At that time, Itzy discovered her love for immigration and has dedicated her career to immigration law.

“Being an immigrant to the United States at a very young age has shown me the values and the importance of the law, especially immigration law. I believe going through the process and finally having the opportunity to naturalize in the year 2022, it has given me more understanding and clarity in this line of work. It is the reason why I am able to connect with all my clients and people with different backgrounds and history.”

Itzy is very dedicated to her work, but outside of work she likes to run, spend time outdoors, and make memories with her two children and puppy. Itzy is originally from Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico.

Citlaly Ibanez, Legal Assistant

Cici joined our firm in November of 2025, assisting Mason Reynolds with all family law matters. She is a bilingual and is currently completing her undergraduate degree while gaining hands-on experience in family law. She thrives in environments where empathy and precision matter, and she’s passionate about helping families navigate complex legal processes with clarity and compassion. Outside of work, Cici enjoys spending time in nature and exploring creative ways to document life’s moments through photography and storytelling. You can find Cici at our Rogers office.

 

Miriam Herrera, Legal Assistant

Miriam started working with Bogart, Small + Duell in February 2025 assisting with immigration cases. She focuses most of her work on matters involving work permit renewals, residency renewals, DACA, and Temporary Protected Status.

She graduated from Har-Ber High School in 2013 and obtained her medical assistant certification from Blue Cliff College in February 2016. Miriam has a strong background in the medical field and has previously worked at Highlands Oncology.

Miriam also has a background of working in immigration law. She previously worked at PR Immigration, PLLC (formerly known as the Law Offices of Roy Petty) from September 2019 to January 2024 where she assisted with family petitions, citizenships, U Visas, and other immigration cases. She has learned and seen the importance of immigration law and also values the relationships with clients.

When not working, Miriam enjoys going to the gym and spending time walking outdoors, especially during spring and fall. She enjoys experimenting with arts and crafts with her three children and making joyful memories with them. Miriam was raised in Northwest Arkansas, but is originally from Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Miguel A. Garcia, Criminal Defense Assistant

Miguel has been working with Bogart, Small + Duell since March of 2025 where he provides support to the firm’s criminal defense attorneys, Adam Rose and Cheston Wright. His work involves traffic violations, misdemeanors, and felonies, amongst other criminal matters. Miguel assists in managing court calendars, discovery files, and client communications.

He graduated from Rogers High School in 2020 and acquired a degree in Ethics, Politics & Economics from Yale University in 2024. Miguel has a wide background in languages, earning a certification in Modern Standard Arabic, working as a Spanish and Arabic language tutor and studying Russian in college. From a young age, Miguel has been fascinated by immigration and criminal law.

“Growing up in Northwest Arkansas as the son of immigrants from Mexico has molded the way that I view every aspect of society, especially the law. While studying in Connecticut, I volunteered at an immigrant rights group and quickly became interested in criminal and immigration law as I got to know members and leaders of the local immigrant community there and learned about their struggle. Returning home after graduating, I knew that I wanted to pursue law as a career and give back to the community in which I was raised.”

Miguel is devoted to his work. Outside of work, he likes to play guitar, travel, and spend time with his family. Miguel is from Rogers, Arkansas.

Brunella Romero, Litigation Assistant

Brunella joined Bogart, Small + Duell in March 2025. She provides support to attorney Nathan Bogart as part of the firm’s immigration litigation practice group. Her work includes a particular focus on asylum matters as well as cancellation of removal, waivers, adjustment of status, and other defenses to removal from the United States.

Brunella graduated from the Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal’s law school in Lima, Peru in 2018. Brunella has a strong background in administrative law working for the Peru’s government and empowering citizens about their rights and obligations. Brunella has always had a passion for human rights and advocacy.

“Like many other immigrants I came to the United States because of the economic, social and political crisis in my country, I came for love, but also to have the opportunity to build a better life. And I must admit that the outlook here is very encouraging. But you have to believe me when I tell you that it was not all easy, I was involved in a petition process that lasted 20 months and I got the privilege of being here. I know firsthand what it is like to go through a challenging, time consuming, and frustrating process, just to be with loved ones and have access to a better future. For this and other reasons, I believe that we all have the right to access the same privileges and achieve the life we long for.”

Outside of work, Brunella enjoys spending time in the library and reading and researching, participating in book clubs, making candles and making memories with her husband. Brunella is originally from Lima, Peru.

Maria Castaneda, Legal Assistant

Maria is a driven and service-centered professional who earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Organizational Management from Oklahoma Wesleyan University. She is currently preparing to further her education, with plans to pursue law school in the coming years. Her professional journey reflects both depth and versatility.

At age 18, Maria earned her Certificate of Medical Assisting and worked alongside surgeons and physicians, gaining early experience in fast-paced, detail-oriented clinical environments. At 22, she transitioned into Human Resources— a field where she now brings 10 years of progressive experience. Maria has served as an HR Business Partner and Executive across municipal government, cybersecurity, and public-sector organizations.

She previously worked at the City of Lowell alongside the Mayor as an HR Executive, where she supported city leadership, improved organizational processes, and handled key HR functions for the municipality. She also served as an HR Business Partner in cybersecurity-focused organizations, building a strong foundation in public-sector operations, government administration, and policy-driven environments.

Her work blends HR expertise, legal training, and natural empathy to guide individuals through complex and emotionally challenging legal processes. Since relocating to Northwest Arkansas three years ago, Maria has embraced the region’s community and lifestyle. She enjoys the outdoors, hiking, family cookouts, and training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Committed, disciplined, and focused on lifelong growth, Maria continues shaping a career that aligns her passions for public service, law, and human advocacy.

Alejandro Victorino, Litigation Assistant

Alejandro joined our firm in October of 2025, assisting attorney Fernando Mancías-Steinmann as a part of our firm’s Removal Defense team in the Fayetteville office. He assists in all aspects of removal defense, including detained and non-detained matters, cancellation of removal, asylum, adjustments, voluntary departure, and bond proceedings.

Alejandro has previous experience in the law field, having worked alongside local attorneys practicing workers’ compensation and Social Security disability law. He has also worked extensively in community organizing, namely with the local volunteer organization AIRE which focuses on immigrant rights and education. He remains dedicated to serving the immigrant community of North-West Arkansas through his work at our office and his advocacy endeavors out in the community. “I’m a people person through and through, from a very young age I learned that my greatest passion was meeting new strangers and learning about the world through their point of view. I’ve always felt most alive when I’m in community with people that I care about, it’s for that very reason that doing this kind of work is so important to me and why I choose to fight for the immigrant community any chance I can get.”

Outside of work and community organizing, Alejandro loves to run in a local run club, going to concerts and live music shows, and spending time with his friends.

Eduardo Rangel, Litigation Assistant

Eduardo joined our firm in December of 2025 assisting attorney Maegan Hodge Nieves as a part of our firm’s Removal Defense team. He is bilingual and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 2024. He has a passion for helping others and assisting them to navigate through stressful moments in their life. He strives to leave a positive impact in their lives and within the community.

Outside of work, Eduardo likes to spend time at the gym and outdoors attending concerts.  He also enjoys hiking, running, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
